.-■/;. • MUNICIPAL FISHERY. Whether Wellington can do tho samo as Auckland in the matter of municipal fisheries ia a matter that a special committee of tho City Council is struggling with at present. Councillor ' Godber holds that whilst Aucldaiid may he surer of regular catches, Wellington has tho better variety- of .fish. .He sa;ys that tho Auckland catches consist mostly of schnapper, mullot, and Johu Dory, whilst Wellington _ has within reach warehou,' inoln, kiiig-fish, trumpeter, hnpuka;-Bchnappor, and at tho entrancd to tho Sounds blue cod—all of tliem fifst-rato eating fish. The conditions for everyday fishing in Welling,ton are not so good as in Auckland, as the weather about Cook Strait is more treaoherbus, and" shelter more remote.
