Chrlstohuroh, October 4. ; At a meeting of the Royal Humane Socjety, Miss Kitty Doughty, for resi cuing a woman from drowning at Wellington, was awarded the silver medal. Bronze medals were awarded to Wilfred M'Roberts, Rev. F. N. Taylor, _ and Charles-Middleditch'for saving life at Greymouth, Sumner, and Wellington, respectively. An in memoriam certifi.- 1 ; cate was awarded in.the case of Fred-* erick N. Hewitt, who lost his life at» tempting to rescue Sidney Murray front drowning at "Wanstead,-Hawke's Bay. • A certificate was awarded to Gladys Eva Marriott for rescuing three women from drowning at Lyttolton. Letters of • commendation were ordered to be; sent to A. S. N. Johnson and Archibald Black for saving life at New Brighton! , and' Wellington respectively.
