Forbes was ordered to pay Baker Gabb, and Short the sum of £14 10s. 9d. by instalments of £3 a month. RESERVED JUDGMENT. Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., delivered reserved judgment in. the case in which Magnus, Sanderson, and Co., Ltd., claimed £35 18s. sd. from L. Young, balance duo on a motor-car, and the defendant counter-olaimed that the car was not up to expectations, and that ho had to spend money on it to get it lip to what ho required. The Magistrate gave, judgment for plaintiff for . the amount claimed, with costs £5 lis., and ou the counter-claim gave judgment for defendant for £9, with costs £5 2s. At the hearing, Mr. A. M. Salelt appeared for plaintiff, and Mr. P. W. Jackson for the defendant. POLICE CASES. Mr. L. G. Rflid, S.M., dealt with the police cases. ■ Nellie May Foley was charged with keeping a house of ill-fame within the meaning of the War Regulations, and Alice Moss, John Norman Foley, and Axel Holberg were charged with assisting in tho management. All four were further charged with using indecent language. Mr. P. W. Jackson, who appeared for all accused,' asked for a remand until . Thursday, which was granted, bail, being fixed at £25 and one surety of £25 in each case.' George Yule, for using indecent language in Customhouse Quay, .was fined 405., the alternative being 14 days' imprisonment. Frederick George Smith, charged with tho theft of an overcoat valued at 305., and Thomas M'Nakara, charged with a serious offence against a male, Were remanded,
