WAR LOAN CERTIFICATES

— —« SALES STILL CONTINUE SATISFACTORY. During the last week-of September over £21,000 was received from the Eal« of War Loan certificates, the leading contributors being: Wellington, £5776; Auckland, £3162; ■ Christclrarch, £2675; and Dunedin, £2322. The total sales have now readied £946,050 18s. The public seem to have settled down to a steady purchase ing of the certificates, doubtless as tlw monev they have determined to : invest is either released from other channels or has been-saved for the special purpose. The collections which are being made by tho employees of many firms have, of course, not yet leaohed the Post Office. Both the Railway and Post aud Telegraph Departments have extensive schemes for collecting small amounts from officers now in operation. .
