Watkins Bros., Ltd., applied to lease an area of 6 acres 1 rood 20 pcrclies, between Section 38, Block VI, Hunua, and the Wanganni Biver, on whicli they have been depositing sawdust—Granted. D. Miller, through his brother, W. Miller, applied to - surrender permit to occupy Crown lands between Section 1, Biock V, Hunua, and Waimarino Native Reserve, 134 acres. It was resolved. to determine the permit issued to Mr. Miller, and to grant one to J. Williams under similar conditions, at a rental of J!6 14s. per aimum, under Section 130 of the Land Act, 1908. The Mangawhero- Eoad Board asked that Sections 2 and 3, Block, XV, Tauakiro, 1912 acres, Forest Reservo, be opened l'or selection. It was resolved to reland «s Forest Reserve for the present. William T. Cartel- .tpplied for a lease of Crown land, Rangiwaea-Torere, 2a Block, 12 acres 18 paphes, Block. XIV, Karioi S.D., being lessee of adjoining Native land. It was resolved to grant him a license under Section 130 of tho Land Act, 1908, to occupy for a term of five years, subject to tho usual conditions, no compensation for improvements. A. Dixon, who was granted a permit to occupy about 70 acres of Sections fi and S, Block XII, Mangnnui, at last meeting, asked permission to fell and clear tho scrub now growing thereon. Permission was granted to clear and grass the land, and the rent was fixed at £2 per annum. The ■ Raetihi Timbor Company, Ltd.,wrote with regard to settlement of account for tramway rights over Sections I. 2, and 3, Block VII, and 24, Block VIII, Makotuku. It was resolved to accept .£l3 iii settlement of the claim. Tliomas Butler applied for a temporary leaso of Sections 15. 16, and 17, Block XV, Horopito West V.S., 2 acres 2 roods 16 perches. It was resolved to grant a permit to occupy from year to year under Section 130 of tho Land' Act, 1908, at a rental of J:3 per annum, subject to usual conditions, no compensation for improvements, and that feuces be kept in good state of repair. Messrs. Gardner and Sons applied,for a licenso to cut dead totara timber on Section 5, Block V, Ohincwairua. It was resolved to grant a licenso to cut and remove tho timber on payment of a royalty, subject to the supervision of tho ranger. ■ ■ ' It was resolved to reduce the valuation for improvements on Section 8. Block IT, town oi" Rangataua, from .£134 • to =£3120. , / It was resolved to grant a licenso to tlio New Zealand Powell Wood Process, Limited, to cut and remove timber from part of tho Waiakaki Block, pursuant to tho powers conferred by Section 39 of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1916, subject to tho terms and conditions of a license granted to the company to
cut timber from tho Bangataua North, Nos, 1 and 3 Blocks, and tho lianiriwaea Bl.ock. Messrs. Dixon Bros, applied for permission to out firewood from Crown Lands Sections 5, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 17, Block XII, Manganui (Gladstone S.S. Block). It was resolved to grant permission at Is. per cord. 11. Erkell applied to surrender his tenancy part ficotiou 3-1, Oliakune Suburbs, - acres. It was resolved to accept surrender. Mrs. A. Frascr applied lo select Section 5, Block I, Hawbey Settlement, 11 acres 2 roods 10 perches, as an addition to her liolding, .Section 3, Block I, 17 acres 2 roods 3 -perches. It was resolved to recommend the Minister to approve. With reference to tlie application of tho Ivarioi Fibre Company that the Crown lauds in Ilangiwaea, 4F, No.- 103 a Block, 11(1 acres 3 roods 2G perches, be offered for sale, weighted with tlio value of improvements. It was resolved to offer tho land, for sale by public auction for cash, at a prico to be fixed by tho Commissioner, loaded with tlie value of the improvements. • D. G. Sanson, occupier'of Section 28, Block X, Hunua, under Improved Farm Settlement regulations, applied for an advance of to enable him to fell bush and grow grass on 35 acres of tho section. This was recommended for the approval of the Minister. It was resolved to nllocate tho "thirds" from Sections 28, 30, 35, and 36, Block I, Mangahao, to PaMatua County Council, and "thirds" from Seotions 18, 21, 22 and 25, Blook I, Mangahao, to Kairanga County Council. It was decided' to Tecommcnd • tho Minister to approve this. The Nireaha Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd., applied to pnrehase Section 48,Nireaha Village, 1 acre 1 porch, It was resolved to recommend the sale of the land to the company under Section 140 of the Land Act, 1008, and that notice he given to the occupier, .H.. E. Watts, of tho determination of his tenancy on December 81, 1910. H. J. Simpson wrote stating that he preferred to select Section 1, Block XIV, Betaruko, 1628 acres, under tho Discharged Soldiors" Settlement Act. It was resolved to grant Mr. Simpson's roquest. Eichard Trombath applied to select Section 24, Block IV, Buketoi, 200 acres, under tho Discharged Soldiers' Settlement Act, 1915. It was resolved to allot tho land to,the applicant under Section i of tho Act, aiid to cancel the permit granted at the previous meeting to H. Loighton to graze the open portion of the section. Price of land to-be .£2 per acre. ' W. Oliver, who had vacated a house on Wiaddington Settlement, applied for payment of value of timber put V>y him into a bridge to give access to the house. It was resolved to decline. Advances to Soldiers.
