ROSE TIME
SHOW ON NOVEMBER 10. Every rose-grower and lovar of rosos will bo interested to learn that the annual show of the Wellington Rose autl Carnation Club will be held at, the Town Hall'oil November 15. The proceeds are to be divided equally between the Mayor's Fund for Wounded Soldiers and for tlie purchase of roses for planting the Zoo rosery. Tho committee desires to express their thanks to the following nurserymen for donations of roses for planting at tho Zoo: Weiglitman and Son (120), T. Waugh, and F. Cooper, Ltd. (100), and T. Horton. During the year 1915-1916 the members of the club have planted 1000 roses, entailing an expenditure of £85, the whole of "which was borne by the club. Tiio roses aro looking remarkably well, and visitors to the rosery during the coming season should he rewarded with a wealth of bloom. The president of tho club (Mr. J. B. Harcourt) lias announced his intention of presenting a trophy to the value of 5 guineas for competition at the Summer Show.
