THE SOCIALIST POINT OF VIEW.
WAR 'AS 'K MEANS TO THEIRENDS. Ausfcralian*3S>.w Zealand Oafcle Association.' (Rec. September. 28, 7 -p.m.)' London, September 28. The National Socialist Party, in a manifesto to the Socialists of Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and South. Africa, expresses surprise and regret to see, in the overseas Socialist journals, that a considerable number of colonial Socialists believe _ that Britain ought not to have participated in the war. "This," says the _ manifesto, "arises from an ontiro misconccption of the facts. We are bound to fight these aggressors, who desire to dominate Europe, and place the smaller nationalities at tho mercy of Prussian militarism. Had. Germany won, the Democracy and' Socialism would liave been thrown baok more than a generation. British capitalism is a terrible enemy, but that capitalism, strengthened by German militarism, would bo more daugerous still. _ When peace comes the workers will have a far creator chance of obtaining control of Britain than'they have over had before. Used to arms, and conscious of their power, it will bo the people s fault if they fail to overcome the wage slavery."
