September 28,. 7 p.m.) London, September 28. ,The King reviewed the Australians ••and New Zealanders cn \ Salisbury Plain. It was the largest body of Australasians which, lias ever been paraded in England. _ Despite {He secrecy associaifrd with the Kings movements, large crowds of spectators awaited the arrival .of the Royal train at Bulford.. The King, accompanied by his staff, inspected the guard of honour, and then proceeded to the parade ground, where thousands of troops were drawn up for ffie general salute. The King first inspected tho wounded men, ajid inquired after their comfort, and assured himself that they were lacking for nothing. He next rode round the lines. The forces included complete units or lufantry, Artillery, Light Horse, Divisional Trains, and Engineers.' They marched evenly, their bearing . being equal to veterans, and the Imperial officers were greatly impressed. _ The King ,salutecTevery officer punctiliously while \the respective commands were passing the saluting base, inquiring the identity of every company. _ t, At the conclusion of tlie review His Majesty expressed a desire to speak to the officers. Fifty of them were presented to the King; who, before leaving, expressed his pleasure at inspecting such a largo body of Australia's and New Zealand's best men. He noted the steadiness of all tho units,_ indicating a high standard of training, and was greatly impressed hp their fine physique and Eoldierly bearing. "They are a fine body of men," he concluded.
