Stuart and family" Advico has been received of the doath in action in Juno last of Captain Neville Houston, son of Mr. W. D. Houston, of Oriental Bay. The lato Captain Houston had been four times wounded in Franco, and while In England on leave was offered a position as instructor, but declined it to go back to the firing-line. Advice just received states that Captain Houston was killed while ont in "No-Man's Land."

A Press Association message from Sydney received yesterday, states that the estate of the late Captain D. J. Williams is valued at £29,297. Captain D. J. Williams was a former resident of Newcastle, and died at his homo at Epping, Sydney, on July 15. He arrived m Now South Wales fifty years ago, and engaged in maritime pursuits. For about eight years he was engaged in the trade between Newcastle and New Zealand and Mauritius. In "1874 he was appointed manager of the Blackball line of sailing snips, engaged in the AustralianNew Zealand trade. In 1875 he was appointed by the Union Steam Ship Company to watch the interests of the steamer Wakatipu. From then on for forty years he was manager at Newcastle for that company. Ho resigned his position in December, 1914. I Captain Williams was a native of Gravesend, England.

Captain Edward. ("Peter") Harris, killed in action in France, was the third son of tho late Archdeacon Harris, who at one time was headmaster of Christ's College, Christchurcb. Deceased was a brother of the late Mr. George Harris, solicitor, of Ghristchuroh.

Yesterday's casualty list reported that Gnnner W. D. Frandi had been wounded at the front, and stated thai his next-of-kin lived in Auckland. Gunner Frandi's relatives state that this is an error, that lie is a Wellington man, that his people live here, and also tliat they received no official notification of his being, wounded, and were not aware that ho had been injured till they' read the casualty list! in tho Press.
