UNREGISTERED DOCTORS
Sir, —Under the 'above heading you publisned a telegram from Duncdin that two persons were fined £5 each for practising "chiro-pactic," the paragraph finishing "implying that . they were specially qualified to practice medicine."' Now, Sir, tho diploma issued by the American College (University) just does not give tyiem that option. ' "Chiropactic" practice does not include'medicine. If is on lines with MechanoTherapy— a massage treatment on a new principle; Drugs do not come in at all. In America doctors of medicine are joining this system, and those who have not gone through the university pass numerous cases on to the chiropactic. It is claimed that this*method is superseding mechano-therapy. Because it is little known in New Zealand is is condemned. And bv whom?. By the B.M.A. (British Medical Association). Do they want a monoooly of -curing ?_ Tho samo B.M.A. tho friendly.socitics arc now fighting. Sir, chiro-pactic is tho coming drugJess cure, and New Zealand can -prepare to receive it in a fair spirit. Let tho B.M.A. members stick to their drugs, but the Government must, legislate to give thoso_ who believe in drugless cure the right to Jiavc it. Even.now massage treatment is being strongly adi oca led. AA'hy not chiropractic? If those who were fined were administering drugs they got what they deserve. But were tliev?—l'am. etc.. MAUK MAXTON. P.S.—T do not know those gentlemen fined; I am only Writing to hold up the right of dnigiess cure.—M,M.
