The communique mentions that the enemy, which included Turks, burned the villages on the line of- Tetreat. JefFeries, the "Daily Mail's" correspondent at Athens, says that the situation there is more serious than ever[ and is drifting to a final crisis. It is not likely that France will recognise the new Cabinet, and he understands the Russian Minister has received instructions that Russia is not in-' terestcd in the Greek Kingdom. The decision regarding the British attitude is eagerly awaited in Government circles, because it is realised that\Britain will cast'the die. Meanwhile, Cabinet is desperately attempting to win the . confidence of the Allies. A TRUCE'TO POLITICAL PRETENSIONS. ■ ("The Times.") Athens, September 21. After a prolonged Cabinet council it was agreed to shed its political pretensions and to become purely an administrative Cabinet. GERMAN PLOT TO ASSASSINATE VENIZELOS . It is officially reported that the Cretans have risen in revolt, abolished' the Greek authorities, disowned King Conetantine, and announced their intention to send a committee to Salonika. ,
KING CONSTANTINE ADDRESSES THE GREEK RECRUITS : 'YOU ARE MY SOLDIERS-MINE ONLY." ' Athens, September 21. Tlio swearing in of the 1915 Greek recruits took place at the Garrison Barracks in the presence of the Queen, the War Minister, and all the officers of the garrison. King Constantino addressed the recruits, saying: "You must show blind devotion to your superiors and your King. ' You are to obey my orders. You are my soldiers, mine only. Beware <>f the teachings of base exploiters of patriotism who are trying to lead you to ruin." THE KIDNAPPED GARRISON OF KAVALA (Beater's Tcleitram.) Paris, September 21. A telegram from Salonika states that 5000 Greeks, with 55 field guns, all the heavy artillery of the forts, and enormous quantities of food and'munitions surrendered to the Bulgarians at Kavala.
