SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY
■ Miss Stairmand arranged a concert at tho Sailors' Friend Society last evening, when tho enthusiasm reached a high pitch. The demonstrations by Miss Stairmand's pupils: were met w,ith loud applause. The items by the Misses M. Jones, Taylor; Armstrong, Bingham, and Messrs. Hanlon and Boyd were much enjoyed. Miss Alison and Mr. Child wero at tho piano. The;" gliort story competitions continue to Tctain a freshiftss that is pleasing. Mr, Mooro (missioncr), who presided, thanked reccnt donors ol discarded books, and pleaded for further supplies for ships leaving port.
