The High Commission- \ 'er's staff was recently weakened, and x 'iho breakdown of some of its most valuable officers is voiced as another reason against any immediate change in the ■ position. New Zealand soldiers in 'Bntain and France appreciate the mangier in which Sir Thomas Mackenzie is carrying their interests, and are likely jto deprecate any change in the High ,Commissionership during the war. It is pointed out that the main concern of Now Zealand after the war will be the development of trade, extending her markets, seizing new ones, tho picking lip of disjointed commercial connections, and reporting on questions offinance and reorganisation.
