NEW ZEALANDERS ABROAD

LonUorij August 10. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Howison, of Bay of Plenty, are staying in Glasgow. .'_Mr. Alfred C. Wilson, of Invercargill, is staying in' Kirkcaldy, Scotland. Miss Daisy Lever, Auckland, who has. been travelling to and fro on hospital ships tor some little-timo, is in London for a few days. Mr. Chalmers \Y. Thomson (N.Z.) has_ come to offer his services as an. engineer, and hopes to obtain a commission in the 11.N.A.5. Failing this he intends to get into the Yacht Patrol and Transport Service, in which service there is a dearth of engineers. Dr. and Mrs. J. A. Going, of Hamilton, arrived in London on July 18, via Italy and Southern France. Dr. Going visited all the principal hospitals en route, and is now doing voluntary work at the London Hospital. They expect to leave again for the Dominion - on November 24, by the Kamala. Mrs. A. C. Crowther, of Auckland, arrived in England, a, fortnight ago from Egypt, whero she has been working with the Now Zealand Volunteer. Sisterhood. She found the Eastern climato too trying, hut hopes, when her health has improved, to take up Red Cross work iu England. Dr. and Mrs. Russell Marshall (Nelson) are on furlough in England from tho Mclancsiau Mission in the British Solomon Islands, where they have been working at tho mission hospital, and are staying at Sutton Vicarage, Ely. Dr. Marshall has obtained a commission in the E.A.M.C., and Mrs. Russell Marshall has been accepted for nursing work in the N.Z.E.F. Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Clarkson, of Christchurch, who arrived at Plymouth on July 14, were met by Mr. and Mrs. J. B: Clarkson, and on the following day motored through Devon and Hampshire to London. After spending a week in the metropolis, during which time Mr. Clarkson applied for a commission in tho R.E.C., they motored to Yorkshire, and then came south through tho Midlands. Mr. and Mrs. Clarkson aro now staying at Gable End, Goldcr's Green, as tho guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Clarkson.
