ARMY CLOTHING CONTRACT FRAUD
MAN SENT TO GAOL FOR EIGHTEEN MONTHS. Australian-New Zealand Cable Association. (Rec. September 19, 5.30 p.m.? London, September 19. In connection with the alleged Army clothing contract fraud, Montague was sentenced to eighteen months' imprisonment. . One witness stated that out of ten thousand badly-made pairs of trousers only ono hundred were rejected. H. H. Soar and Company paid him £5, and also Jd. each for every pair of trousers passed. The jury expressed tho severest censure upon Soar and Company, and Mr, Justice Low added: "It is a great pity wo were unable to punish them."
