MILITARY CONCERT

GREYTOWN PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE. A military concert, in which tho Featberston Camp Brass and Trumpet . Bands took part, was held in tho Town Hall at Greytown. A feature of the evening was the singing by Miss N. Meiklo of the song "Keep the Home Fires Burning." This song resulted in £3 10s. being thrown on to the stage. Members of the Trumpet Band, under Trumpeter-Major Chegwin, sounded a number of massed camp calls, such as are played on tho artillery and mounted lines. Bandsman l'ord gave pretty renderings on cornet and euphonium of "Two Eyes of Grey" and "The Village Blacksmith." Bandsman A. Rowse danced a hornpipe and a step-dance, and Sergeant Pettit gave a violin solo. Band-Sergeant Webb was encored twice for two stirring recitations. Other items were given by members of both bands. A dance was held afterwards, and refreshments were provided by a committee of ladies, which included Mrs. A. Finn, Mrs. Iveson, Mrs. Rees, Mrs. H. r lrotman, and Misses M'Donald, J. Bicknell, and O. Wenden. Tho proceeds of the concert aro to be devoted to patriotic purposes by the Greytown Patriotic Committee.
