The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report that -at tlioir monthly stock sdle, held at . Waikanae yards on Tuesday, they submitted a small entry of sheep and a fair yarding of cattle. Several pens of fat and forward wethers failed to reach -reserves, but the balance of their yarding changed hands at satisfactory prices. Competition for cattle was brisk. We quote:—Twotooth store'wethers (small), 295. 4d.; light fat cows. £7 lfl£. to £8 35.; store cows, £5 15s. to £6 Zs.; cows in calf to S.H. bull, £7 95.; three-year Jersey steers, £11; yearling steers, £5 75.; vcalers,. £2 !95.; dairy cows, £7 to £7 55.; springing heifers, £6 155.; weancr pigs, 13s. Messrs. Wright, Stephenson, and Co., Ltd., report having held . their weekly salo in their Waipoua. (Masterton) sale yards, on Wednesday, when they' offered a good, yarding of sheen and cattle. Competition was keen throughout the sale, and practically a clearance was. made at the following prices:—Fat ewes, 30s. ;• forward store owes, . 285.; two and- four-tooth .wethers, 31s. Id.; store ewes. 215.; b.f. lioggeis, 20s. 7d. to Us. 4<1.; w.f. hoggets. : 82s. to 225. 3d.; S.I), rams, 14s. 6d.
