SUNDAY GOLF
STILL BRING PLAYED AT BERHAMPORE.
Each Sunday still sees' a contingent of golf players, soeking recreation on the municipal links at Berhampore. As far as these peoplo are concerned, there is no law existing to prevent them playing, and so far no action has been taken in tho hold by the council authorities to stop Sunday play. The position at present is that the by-law against Sunday golf passed by the council has yet to ,bo confirmed. It will come up for confirmation at next Thursday's meeting of the council, and seven days thereafter will become law. Whether it will bo good law will then have to bo proven. As tho Town Belt is freo to all for all_ time—the deed of dedication is an interesting document—it is a moot point as _to whether peoplo engaged, in knocking a ball about with a club can be prevented from so doing—even by the City Council by-law. The law is to be tested by Sunday players, if the council authorities provide tho opportunity when the by-law comes into forco.
