HON. W. ERASER AT TAUMARUNUI

By Telegraph—Press Association. Taumarunui, September 13. Tito Hon. W. Fraser, Minister of Public -Works, arrived yesterday morning and sat all day and until late in the ovening taking a record number of deputations introduced by Mr. 11. W. Smith, M.P., who acted, for himself and Mr. Jennings, M.P., who was absent through his wife's illness. Deputations were received from the Kaitieko, Ohiira, and Waimarino counties, the Taumanmm Borough Council, tho Chamber of Commerce, Kakalii Ratepayers' Association, Owhango Settlers' Association, and West Taupo Settlers' Association. Tho Minister promised to call tenders for the Wangamvi traffic 'bridge at Tannmrunui, and also to start protectivo works in the river at once. Mr. Prascr stated that he was proclaiming a hospital site in the borough, and a competent ongineer would report on the- Wnngamii waterway. The deputations w chiaily asked for roads. Yen. terday "afternoon, during an adjournment, tho Minister motored to jlanunui and Officially turned on the now high pressure water supply tqxtho town from tho borough main. The Minister Joft to-day for Rotorua.
