PETONE BOROUGH COUNCIL
—. o The Peteno Borough Council met last evening, the Mayor (Mr. J. W. M'Ewati) presiding:, and there were present also Councillors J. Gaynor, AV. Cox, C. P. Brocklebank, D. M'Eenzie, R. H. Jones, AV. Tnicnian, A. Andcr* eon, and J. M'Dougall. In the conrso of his monthly .report, - Mr. A. Cowfc, the borough engineer, observed that metal now being used for patching streets did not stand heavy traffic. Tho health inspector reported two cases of diphtheria. The question of when tho bathing and bowling season should bo opened was left to the executive officers.
