UNFAIR TO 17th REINFORCEMENTS
Sir, —As I have relations leaving with the Seventeenth Reinforcements, i must say I think it very unfair that some of them should he sent back to Fcatherston in a few days. This has never been done before so soon before they sail. I am leaving Hawke's Bay on Tuesday for Wellington, and although 1 can see 0110 of my relations until tho sixteenth, the others, I beliove, will be at Featherston. After parents going to Wellington to see their hoys, it is only natural that the boj-6 would want to spend their Toave of the last week or two here with them, as they can do while at Trentham, so I hopo tho authorities can arrange for them to stay at Trentham. Then lam sure they will earn the gratitude of tho soldiers as well as relations that travel to Wellington to see them before they leave. Thanking you for printing this letter, —I am, etc., A SOLDIER'S MOTHER,
