ASSOCIATION

BOYS' REPRESENTATIVE TEAM FOR THE SOUTH. A meeting of tlio Management Committee of the Wellington Football Association was held last evening, Mr. A. Wolls presiding. There were also present: Messrs. T. Leadbetter, C. Webster, F. O'Driscoll, T. Thompson, ~W. Auld, and H. Yeoman. The question- ,of helping in the Christmas Gift Fund being raised by the sports bodies was informally discussed, and tho general opinion was that the association could not do much in tho way of providing an attractive game beyond assisting on the day selected for raising funds. _If the Basin Reserve could be obtained, it ivould be possiblo to play tho Charity match oh Saturday, Soptember 16, and it was resolved to see what could be dono in this direction. A suggestion made by a refcrco in respect to providing llio reforeo with the names of the players in the opposing teams was held over for reference to the incoming committee. The Fixtures Committee recommended tho following fixtures for tho Scouts'' competition:— At Kilbimie at 2 p.m.: St. Thomas v. St. Paul's; Rosenoath v. Karori. (Winners to play, off at 3 p.m.) At Association Park, at 2 p.m.; Y.M.C.A. (1) v. Y.M.C.A. (2).; Brooklyn v. tho winners, of the above, the latter game to bo played at 3 p.m. Messrs. Mason, Evans, and Mabin were appointed selectors of the team of schoolboys to go south to play Canterbury. Tho team is to leave. for the south on September 21, play Canterbury on September' 23, and return on Soptember. 25. It was resolved to ask Mr. Mason to act as manager of the team. Tho following; team was selected to represent Wellington against Canterbury at Christcliurcli on September 23: Goal, Rowe (Island Bay); backs, Thompson (Porirua), Jones (Clydo Quay); halves, Wood (Marist T), Jeffrey (Island Bay), Burke (Marist N); forwards—right-wing, Haddock (Maranui), Nash (Marist N); loft wing, Colomb (Marist N), Griffiths (Marist N); centre, Wi Neera (Ponma). Emergencies: H. Davis; (Porirua), James (Worser Bay). It was decided, to play the Wellington City school representatives (including Porirua) against the country schools on Monday, the game to take place at Porirua. Tho benefit match played on behalt of tho Jutland Sailors' Fund resulted in a profit of £7 2s. Eld., which has hcou handed over to tho fund.
