The manager of the Vr'aihi Reefs Gigantic Consolidation, Ltd., . reports:—"l 60s to report for the past week as follows:—The advancement in north drive at 300 feet level is 7 feet, making total driven 157 feet, the last few feet being in much stronger rock, containing bunches of liard, flinty auartz, difficult lo blast. At 37 feet back from face a portion or the reef appears to have thrown off into west sido' of drive. I have, therefore, started to crosscut at tight-angles into. tho wall id order Ui pick up any quartz whioli may have deviated from the true course of reef; 3 feet 'has been driven in this direction without delaying advancement in north drive, when I hope to be soon clear of disturbed channel."
