? . Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M., presided at a sitting of the Magistrate's. Court on Saturday morning. Jane Woolly, convicted of insobriety, was ordered to pay 17s. 6d. in costs. Janics 'Ward, who had beon found helplessly drunk, was fined £1, and orclered to pav 14s. 6d. in costs. Thomas William Humphrey was fined £2 for having committed an indecent act. Henry Denham appearethon a charge of the theft of a metal •■•atcli, ti,e property of Thomas M'Callum.- He was remanded till September (■. Kliristian ITenry Jensen was fined £2 for playing hazards on the wharf. William - English, a 'mumbar of tho Corinthic crow, who admitted having been absent from tho vessel wtluiit leave, was sentenced tc seven daj's' imprisonment. Edward Foreman, lvho stands charged on various counts of breaking and entering and theft,, was further remanded till September- 9. AUCKLAND SUPREME COURT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, September 2. At the Supreme Court, Norman Selwyn Conolly, charged with attempted rape, was sentenced to three years' imprisonment with hard labour, and one vear's liard labour for breaking his probation order, tho sentences to be concurrent.
