BAD ATTACK OP DIPLOMATIC NERVES. liistralian-New Zealand Cable Association. New _York, September 1. Karl Von Weigand, the Berlin correspondent of the "New York World/' in a dispatch, shows that Germany had an attack of nerves consequent on .the ~ report that the United' States was seeking an excuse to enter the war against the Central Powers. Von Weigand interviewed a high . official, who stated that Germany does not contemplate a renewal of the U boat warfare, but desires more cordial relations ivith the United States. The : official said: "We have no wish to help England to play her trump card against us by bringing ih America;'certainly ; not at this time." GERMAN SUBMARINE SUNK Australian-New Zealand Cable Association. (Rec. September 3, 5.5 p.m.) Copenhagen, September 2. A German submarine was sunk off Sonderburg, and several of the crew killed.
