MEAT TRADES COMPETITION. Außtralian-Naw Zealand Oable Association. London, August 30. The Meat Trades Rod Cross Fund has reached £90,000. The committed is offering Lord Kitchener's original' letter calling for tho first _ 300,0Q0 volunteers or a thousand ■ guineas as a, .prize for the nearest guess of the number of marriages and births in England in 1916. Other prizes, amounting to £500, will be 'offered. The meat traders ■ are providing the prize money, ono giving £1000. The competition is open to Australia and New Zealand, and the shillings for entrance fee go to the fund.
