' CANTERBURY RESOLUTIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Chrlstchurch, August 31. At the annual meeting of tlie Canterbury Chamber of Commerce to-day, on the subject of the rocent conference with, tho Board of Trade, in re-, forence to post-war trade, .Mr. H. J. Marriner,' for the chamber's sub-com-mittee, moved: "That there be reciprocal trading relations between all parts of the British Empire; that there be reciprocal trading relations between, the British Empire and Allied countries; that neutral countries ho given favourable treatment; that trade relations with enemy countries be restricted by tariffs and otherwise, so as to render dumping or a return to pre-war conditions impossible; that steps be taken to obtain legislation making it illegal for enemy subjects to hold , real or personal property) to trade, or to hold shares or any other interest in. joint stock companies trading in Now Zealand; that no cargo, to or from New Zealand be allowed to be carried on vessels owned or partly owned by enemy subjects; and that no such vessel bo coaled or provisioned in any New Zealand port; that no enemy subject be permitted to enter this Dominion; and that every enemy subject at present in this Dominion be dcnaturalisod. . The resolutions were all carricd, with the exception of the last. Mr. A. H. Turnbnll moved an amendment.to the last, as follows: "That no enemy subject bo permitted to enter the Dominion, and that no present enemy subject _ be granted letters naturalisation in future." Tfia mover of the' motion said that ho was prepared to accept the amondmont, and withdraw his motion. On being put the amendment was carried unanimously,.
