"THE INVISIBLE WORLDS AROUND US"
Last night, at the rooms of the Theosophical Society, Mr. J; Eoss Thomson, of Auckland, delivered the 6econd part of his address on "How AVe Contact tho Invisible Worlds Around Us." The 'speaker commenced by saying that man is not the simple organism ho seems, but is a complex being with various bodies—the physical, tho astral, and tho mental—with which he contacts the various planes of tlio universe. Mr. Thomson went on to quote the evidence of eminent scientists, who emphatically claim to have proved by actual experiments extending over many years tho reality of life on other plan.es. Ho added that spiritualism is o,ife way of getting into. touch with beings on tho higher planes, but it is not recommended by the Theosophical Socioty. Hypnotism, which thrusts back the conscious-' ness to the higher planes, is another method; but unless the operator is of tho highest and purest charactcr tliero is grave risk to tho subject of such experiments. Great entities, ho said, will not tise an impure channel, and if we wish to meet the Masters of Wisdom on their own plane we must refine our v«. bicle« in order that we may contact the higher worlds.
