RUSSIANS REPEL AN ATTACK Australian-New Zealand Cable Association. London, August 29. A Russian official communique states:—"We repelled an attack in the Toboly region against our positions on t.ho west bank of the Stochod. The' enemy fired over two thousand asphyxiating gas shells." • . (Rcc. August 30, 7.20 p.m.) Pfitrograd, August 29. 'A Russian communiqtio states:—"The-position is unchanged." GERMAN OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE. ' (Rec. August 30,- 8.5 p.m.) Amsterdam, August 30. A Gorman official communique states—"We repulsed feeble Russian attacks northward of the Dniester. Fighting is occurring in the Carpathians with the Russo-Rumaniaiv vanguards." RUSSIAN MOTOR TRANSPORT. Petrograd, August '29. The military authorities have established a motor-car service from Petrograd to Archangel to supplement the railway. THE DRIVE IN ASIA MINOR London, August 29. A Russian official communique states:—"Wo are' advancing on the Lake Van front, driving out the Turks, whose attacks were ropelled. One of our battalions found four hundred dead. Wo took many prisoners on the bank - of tho Euphrates westward of Mush."
