Last; evening a man was found dead in one of the conveniences of the Commercial Hotel, Lambton Quay. A seaman's discharge found on deceased, and dated Juno 6, 1916, shows tho name of Harry Tawso, aged 32, and the discharge,is from tho s.s. Takapuna. The body was removed to. tho. morgue. An inquest will be hold. CHILD SCALDED TO DEATH. By Telegraph—Press Association. Gisbcrne, August 29. A child, aged 3, daughter of Mr. 6. Linskey, was ' fatally scalded by the overturning of a pot in which potatoes were being boiled. KILLED BY A FALL OF EARTH. , . Dunedln, August 29. A young married man, Edwin Parker, was killed by a fall of earth in a. sluicing claim at tho Kycburn diggings on Monday.
