* The Hon. J. G. W. Ailken, M.h.C, presided at yesterday's meeting of the Wellington College- Board of Governors. There were also present His "Worship the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke), Professor'lCasteriield, Mr.-A. Warburton, and the secretary (Mr. C. P. Powles). The financial position 6howcd- that the balance at, tho bank was £4083 12s. Id., which with'£2 os. cash in_ hand gave a credit balance of £4055 17s: Id. Outstanding fees were as follow: —Wellington Boys' College, £264 15s. 11(1.; and the Girls' College, £1484 12s. 7d.j rents outstanding • amounted to £415 ss. fid. These figures give a total of £2164 lis.' yet, to come in.- Amounts required for payment were:—Wellington College,. £908 25.; Girls'- College. ■C 589 ss. 7d.; a total of £1497 7s. 7d. Included under fees outstanding are free-place fees amounting to: Wellington College, £233 4s. lid.; Girls' College, £1413 lis. lid. The' board approved of the purchase recently made of £400 worth of war bonds out of scholarship moneys, tjioopinion being expressed, that the amount invested was very satisfactory.
