■ *_ ANNUAL MEETING. The annual business meeting of the above congregation was held in the church, Scatoun,oorn r Thursday evening, tho Rev. Robert Wood presiding.. Mr. W. W. Eowntreo presented tlie report of session and committee, which disclosed an increase in attendance and membership during the year. The members, on Communion roll numbered 25, an increase of 5. Thanks were expressed to 1 Mrs. Rowntrce and to Messrs. Smith and W'esney for .their services at the organ. The Sunday School had increased to 42 on the roll, with an average of 30, and the work of Mrs. Rowntrec as /superintendent, and those who assisted here, was spoken of with appreciation. The Education Board had approached: the committee for tho use of the church during school hours, as a sido school, and the committee had granted tho request at a rental that would cover cost of, depreciation of building and cost of addition to the church, in which church seats could be stored during school hours. Mrs. Eowntreo also presented the bal-ance-sheet, which ehowed a; credit bal-, mice of i£3. During the year'the church debt had been reduced, and Cumniunion services secured out of special and ordinary collections. The roports were adopted. Mr. Edwin Johnston was elected as an addition to the committee. A conference on the work of the church then took place, during which favourable consideration was given to proposals to rcsujne the Ladies' Guild, to grant an allowance for manse vent, and arrango for monthly, week, and night services.
