A NEW CHURCH
The. Courtcnay Place Congregational Clrarch, which recently disposed of. its old property in Courtenay Place, and has been; .carryings'on temporarily in tho Webb Street Church, has decided to go on with clie_ erection of a new edifice on the section already secured on the corner of Cambridge Terrace and Lome Street, and only on Wednesday tho contract was signed by Messrs. Davison and Hoberts to build the nor brick church (designed by Mr. W. ■Fielding) at acosfc of £5707 6s. Od. The new church, which is to be finished is red press brick, will be Gothic in idea, with an attractive frontto Cambridge Terrace. It will seat about 32Q people on the- ground floor, 'and 90 in the gallery, which will extend across the front of the building, hit not down the sides. TJie section on which the new church is to stand lias a frontage .to Cambridge Terrace of 62ft. by/a depth at the back (from Lome Street) of about 137 ft., so that there will be ample space for a SunI day school and any other subsidiary buildings that may be. required.
