The thirty-third annual report of the Wellington Woollen Manufacturing Company states that tho directors are gratified to be again in a position to present to shareholders a balance-sheet for the year's working ■ showing a satisfactory result. Orders for military uses have engaged the company's mills and clothing factories to a larger extent than in the preceding year, so much so, in fact, as practically to prevent any manufacture for the domestic trade. ' The directors met demands, where possible, by increased importation. The sum of £5000 has been written off for depreciation. To the reserve account £5000 has been : added. The directors recommend.-that a further , distribution be made to shareholders of 4 per cent., with a bonus of 3 per cent. The gross profit was £52,198; working expenses" were £21,343; patriotic donations, £SCO. The retiring directors are Messrs. W. H. P. Barber and W. G. Foster, who offer themselves for re-election.
Customs duties collected at the port of Wellington yesterday amounted to £2615 Us. lid.
