Messrs. Dalgctj- and 00., Ltd., report hawng held their fortnightly Hutt sale yesterday, when they offered a fair yarding of cattle, no sheep comiue forward, competition for all classes submitted was exceptionally keen, and practically every lino was sold under the hammer at rates jonsiderably-ahead of vendors' reserves, the principal sales being as under:— Empty cows, £5 145.. £6 2s. 6d., to £6 155.; 2-year steers, £5 18s. to £6 165.; poor-con-ditioned 3-year steers, £8 to £9 10s.; yearline heifer*, £2 tu £2 10s. 6d.; springing cows, £7 to £8 10s.; springing heifers, £a to £9 15s. . .
At tho weekly Levin sole on Wednesday Messrs. Dalgety and Co. report having offered a medium yarding of sheep and cattle. Competition all through was good, and satisfactory business was done under the hammer. All classes of 6tock met with sound competition; The . principal sales were as under:—Bat wethers, 30s. to 335. 3d.; culled shorn hoggets, lis. 6d. to 11b. 9d.: poor-conditioned store oows, £4 75.: good-conditioned store cows, £6 15s. to £7 55.; yearling steers, £4 55.; springing cows, £6 2s. 6d. to £7 35.; springing heifer 6, £6 2s. 6d. to £7.
