On his return from Rieciron, Sedd-cl-Bahr was given a rest for a few days, but he is to be taken up again, aid will be a runner at tho Wanganui meeting next month. -

Trainer J. J\ Jefferd too': a couple of his two-year-olds to Danajvirke,. along with the remainder of. his team, and during the afternoon be 'sprinted them down the straight. The Martian-Gipsy Girl gelding is a goc-d-looiring, .veilgrown youngster, and was greatly admired by those present. Ho ivprars to have plenty of pace, but his" 'tapiner states that he is not engaged in ahv weight-for-ago events. .

Mr. H. Whitney lies mapped out a Gouthj Island trip for his team in the spring. They will race at the Kurow and Dunediu meetings in October A Reed, will probably go south m ride them, and another North Island horseman, in W. Bell, will also <lo iho same t»ip and ride Mr. A. W. .Rutherford's utrses. • Delaware was the unlucky horse in the Hack Hurdles at Dannevirke: He /met with a lot of bad luck on the journey ,and was several l:mcs interfered with by fallen horses.

•8.-Neary, who won a raco with Try Eluko at the Winter Meeting of the Auckland Racing Club in Juno, and who subsequently took him to Melbourne, has received a permit from the Racing Club to train his own horses.

At the Pakuranga Steoplcchaso Meeting, to bo held at Ellerslio, there will bo a parado for two-year-olds, in which about 20 juveniles are expected to take part.

Weights for the Marton meeting are due to-day.

After witnessing the racing at Dannevirke, Handicapper G. Morso went north for tho Pakuranga Hunt.Club meeting. Mr. Morse has been reappointed to act for the Egmont Racing Club Hub season.

One of the most popular wins at the Dannevirke' meeting was that of Lady Bibboro in the Steeplechase, and her owner, -J. Eathaway, tho well-known Awapuni trainer, was congratulated on all sides.

J. Tilsley, who rode .Lady, Renown in tho Hunters' Steoples at Dannevirke, has not had much luck this season, and on returning to tho birdcage' with his mount his brother riders gave him a rousing, cheer. Lady Renown, who is trained by J. Coylo, at Bulls, is a very quick juniper, and it was his smart lepping at the first fence that brought down a couple of the other competitors.

Several Now Zealand Cup candidates raced at Dannevirke, but their showings were not sufficiently good to give their owners an idea that they will be successful in the big two miles handicap at Riecarton.

R. Edwards, who rodo Peach Pio in the Hunters' Steeples at Dannovirko, got a heavy fall at tho first fence. Ho was conscious when brought in, but later on lapsed into a semi-conscious state, and had to bo taken to the hospital tho same evening.

Big fields aro engaged in nil the emits at tho Manawatu Hunt Club meeting to bo held on tho Awnpuni racecourse on Wednesday next. Visitors from Wellington can travel up by the
