I The executive committee, of the Dio- | cesan Uouhcil met last evening at St. Patrick's Hall, Boulcott Street, the Rev. Father Hurley, S.M., presiding over a full attendance of members. Arrangements were confirmed for a.- vigorous campaign for new members during September, including an organisine tour of tho. Hawke's Bay and Taranaki districts, by a member of the executive. Encouraging; reports were received from many of the country branches, Napier in particular, where nearly ono thousand members have been enrolled to date for the current year. Tho report of the recent conference was presented, .and the resolutions arrived at were adopted, and it was decided to hold a similar conference in. the near future, with' the object of furtheriug the study of social science among tho members of the Federation. It wTls. decided to issuo a monthly letter to every parish, committee, giving a resume of the' proceedings, and recommendations for consideration, also to -issue a leaflet setting out the objects of the movement and the achievements of the Federation. Parish committers in the Ticinity of the .city will be assisted by members of the executive addressing the'branches at the quarterly or other general nieotings, scvernl members having. offered their services for this purpose. It was mentioned that as the result of a protest by the Federation at Petono, an objectionable poster advertising a picture film had been ordered to be removed by the borough authorities, and that vigilance was being exercised with reference to the exhibition of the films in question. The secretary/ was directed to convey the best wishes of the council to tho general secretary of the Victorian' Federation for success in the campaign now in progress in that State*
