PORTUGAL AND THE ALLIES
SHIPPING CONCESSION TO GREAT BRITAIN. Au6tra.lian.NeTT Zealand Cablo Association. (Rec. August 22, 8.33 p.m.) Lisbon, August 21. German ships, aggregating 188,796 in tonnage, have been ceded to Britain, and manned by 2300 Portugueso Marines. Britain will pay 900,000 esoudos (£20,000), per month for the use of the ships. ALLIED MILITARY MISSION TO PORTUGAL. (Rec. August 22, 9.15 p.m.) Paris, August 22. A military mission will go to Portugal at the week-end. General Barnardiston will represent Britain, and Colonel Paris will represent France.
