GENERAL ROBIN INTERVIEWED ' IN AUCKLAND. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auokland, August 22. Members of tbe City. Recruiting Committee were informed by General Robin, to-day that Section 35 of tho Military Scrvico Act. which makes special provision for the calling up of the members of one family, will be put into operation as from the enrolment of tho First Division, which will be commenced on September 1. The scction in question which, is designed to meet cases of certain families from which no members have enlisted, provides that if the Minister of Defence is satisfied with respect to any family that consists of or includes two or moro brothers who belong to the First Division, and who are not permanently unfit for military service, he may at any time after the enrolment of the First Division give all or any of them notice to show cause to tho Military Servico Board why they should not be called upon for service. Both the Officer Commanding the District and the members of tho City Recruiting Committee have taken note of a large number of cases which will como under this section, and notwithstanding the fact that the drafts for lie immediate future are fully subscribed, it is felt that the men in question should receive prompt attention. This will be the first enforcement of any section of the War Act. The question of tho Military Service v Boards to be appointed for the hearing of appeals under the Military Servico Act was also discussed. It was represented by members of the committee that the proposal to havo one board only for each island was inadequate, and that there shoitld bo one board for cacli ' military district. Sir _ Alfred Robin agreed with this suggestion, and the matter will be further discussed with him before lie leaves the city.
