A VEILED PROPHECY WOMEN'S SUFFRAGE IN SIGHT (Router's Telegram.) (Rec. August 19, 5.5 p.m.) London, August 18. Mr. J. W. Gulland (Joint Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury) is reported to have told a suffrage deputation that there had been recently a great advance in the attitude of the Government towards women's suffrage The enfranchisement of women was practically certain, but thero was a lot of old-fashioned prejudice in Parliament. He advised the women to refrain from agitation at present. ANOTHER REPORT. Australiau-Ncw Zealand Cable Association. (Rec. August 20, 5.5 p.m.) London, August 19. Mr. Gulland, replying to a Scottish women's suffrage deputation, said that it was only a matter of time when they would 'receive the vote. They might consider that women's suffrage was practically safe. A WORKERS' DEPUTATION. ("The Times.") (Rec. August 19, 5.5 p.m.) London, August 18. Tbo War Emergency Workers' Committee has passed a resolution urging the withdrawal of the Registration Bill and the appointment of a select committee to consider the redistribution of adult suffrage.
