WAR LOAN
WAIROA SUBSCRIPTIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wairoa, August 19. At a meeting called to discuss the war loan, the chairman of the Harbour Board, stated that tho Sinking Firnd Commissioners were putting all surplus funds into tho loan. One local firm has subscribed £2000. It is understood that many other large amouuts have been invested. •610,000 INVESTMENT FROM HOKITIKA. Hokitilta, August 19. The trustees of the Hokitika Savings Bank decided at yesterday's meeting to apply for £10.000 of bonds in the Government war loan.
