Reports from Salonika state that an attack of the Bulgarians on Fiorina (on tho Greek frontier) was checked four milos from the railway station. The Allies broke tho Bulgarian attack in the Modjeska .Valley, inflicting heavy losses. BULGARIAN OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE. (Eec. August 20, 5.5 p.m.) Amsterdam, August 19. A Bulgarian official communique claims: "On August 17 we repulsed and pursued the Serbians, who wero occupying Fiorina, and drove the cnemj in disorder west and south of Doiran and Dolzoli." GERMAN OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE. (llec. August 19, 5.5 p.m.) London, August 18. A German official communique states: "We captured Fiorina, after fighting the Serbians." (Rec. There is spasmodio fighting at the Bulgarian advanced positions Isouth-west of Lake Doiran." CLEARING GREEK NON-COMBATANTS FROM THE FIGHTING ZONE. (Rec. August 20, 5.5 p.m.) Rome, August 20. Greece has authorised the evacuation of eighteen villages in Macedonia, occupied by the Serbian armies, where military operations have commenced. The Serbian front has been extended over six miles, penetrating the territory' occupied by tho Bulgars. GERMAN AEROPLANES ATTACK RUSSIAN DESTROYERS. (Rec. August 19, 5.5 p.m.) London, August 18. A German official communique states: "Our Danube division of aeroplanes successfully attacked Russian destroyers and a submarine north-east of Kara Burna." FRONTIER BRUSH BETWEEN BULGARS AND RUMANIANS. London, August 18. Advices from Odessa state that Bulgarians have taken part in some fighting through a guard firing upon Rumanians. Much war material has reached Orsova. THE RUSSIAN CAMPAIGN IN ASIA MINOR FIERCE BATTLES IN THE REGION OF DIARBEKIR, (Rec. August 20, 5.5 p.m.) Petrograd, August 19. A Russian official communique states: "Fierce battles are proceeding in the direction of Diarbckir." FIGHTING IN PERSIA. (Rec. August 19, 5.5 p.m.) Petrograd, August 18. A Russian communique states: "We engaged considerable Turkish forces in Persia, in the region of Kalagasova." BRITISH RAID IN MESOPOTAMIA MARAUDING IRREGULARS PUNISHED. (Rec. August 20, 5.5 p.m.) London, August 19. The War Office states: "Early in August Turkish irregulars interfered with our reconnoitring steamers on the Euphrates. With friendly tribesmen, and two gunboats, we raided the marauders. Sixty of the enemy were killed, and a number wounded." TURKISH VERSION OF .THE AFFAIR. (Eec. A Turkish official communique claims that tho British raid on the Euphrates was unsuccessful, and that after four hours they withdrew, abandoning forty killed or wounded.
