KHANDALLAH DEBATING SOCIETY

A mock parliament was the subject taken by the above society at its meeting on 'I'uosday evening. All'. C. Jones, who actcd as Premier, brought down a Daylight Saving Bill. The Government, was supported by Jliss Bathani, Messrs. J. H. Mcadowcrot't, W. A. Patterson, K. Noes, and W. Applcton, while Jlr. A. E. Budd. as leader of tho Opposition, had with him Jlisses Sunderland' and Nees, Messrs. B. Hobbs, J. 11. Dale, J. Casey. G. Burt, and S. P. Curtis. Mr. J. 11. Richardson actcd as Speaker and Chairman of Committees. A division was * taken on tho third reading, and the Bill was thrown out by a small majority. At tho next meeting of the society a debate will be taken, "That moving theatres are of great educational value."
