Chrlstohuroh, August 7. •At the inquest on Patrick Kerr, eloctrio linesman, of tho Public Works wild, was electrocuted afc TaiTapu,evidonoo showed that he was working with a dead-lino somo five feet under tho livo cables carrying 11,000 volts. He stood up, bringing his head into connection with the livo wire. A verdict of accidental death was returned. Tho Coroner added a rider "That tho Public Works Department should consider tho possibility of making some contrivance which would minimise tho danger for men who Wore working near livo wires.": Mr. Jj. Birks, Government Electrical Engineer, _ expressed tho Depart-, mont's appreciation of the plucky act' of Robert Jeal, a fellow-linesman, in puffing Kerr away from the live wire. Joal ran a considerable risk, and if tho shock had not been such a severe ono he would probably have > saved Kerr's life. . ;■ ••
