ASSOCIATION

Mr. A. E. AVells presided at a. meeting of the Management Committee of tho "Wellington Football Association last evening. It was decided, that all matches should be plpyed on Saturday. This decision was come to on account of tho city reserves not being availablo after September 15, also on account of so many ' postponements having taken place during tho last few weeks. Mr. J. F. Atkins was accorded a vote'of thanks for having donated a cup for competition in tho Fifth Division Challenge Cup competition. In view Jif'the representative schools fixture, which will be played with Christchurcli at the end of the season, it was decided to ask the masters of schools interested to forward nomina-, tions of players willing to take part in trial games. ' It was further decided to write, asking Canterbury to niako arrangements for tho proposed match. ■ Mr. Mason, of Ponrua School, reported that the • suburbs competition would very likely bo finished next week. A, vote of thanks was passed to the Patriotio Society's band for their services on Saturday last in connection with the benefit match. Considerable discussion ensued over several propositions in regard to providing funds for the promotion of schools- football. It was finally decided to leave tho matter in the hands of tho chairman and Messrs. H. M'lveowen, O'Driscoll, and Yeoman. This sub-committee is to report at. next meeting. .
