The usual club competitions are being played by Miramar Golf Club this year, but there are no trophies given, so .that the whole of the entrance fees go to the club's patriotic fund. On Saturday . a Medal Handicap was played, the be6t net scores being :—L. Whitcombe, 100—24 (76); A. Erslauo, BGt--8 (78); H. R. Baliieavis, 82—2 (80). This,was also the first qualifying round in connection with the club championship, and the best gross scores returned were:—H. R. Balneavis, .82; L, D. Hurst, 83; Sergt.-Major W. T. Doughty, 84; R. L. D. Kidston, 86: A. Erskine, 86; R. P. Ward, 87; B. L. Taylor, 88; T. G. Young, 88; H. P. P. Blundell, 89. The second qualifying round is next Saturday.
