EXAMINATION RESULTS
Tho results of -the Sunday School scholars' examination held on July 1 were given' out yesterday. Of 537 scholars who competed from 50 schools, 120 gained 75 marks or over, thus securing a prize and first-class certificate; 156 earned between 59 and 75. marks, thus gaining a second-class certificate ; 186 earned 45 marks and under 60, which entitled them-to a third-class certificate. Tho total number competing was seven less than last year, ivliicli was no doubt caused by the Doisterous weather on examination day. In addition to tho above number, all the schools in Palmerston North and immediate neighbourhood had large entries, but those scholars are being examined loe'ally/.'.the Palmerston Union providing the ''awards. The prizes and certificates won" by City and suburban scholars will be presented at a meeting to bo held in St. John's Hall on September 4: The Mayoress, Mrs. J. P. Luke, has consented to present' the prizes and the certificates ' will be presented by the examiners. Mr; Culford Bell. will prepare a programme of elocution for tho occasion.
