Huddart, Parker and r Go. stating- that the Wiramera. left Melbourne at noon on Saturday .for Wellington dirccti. She is due here on Thursday, and -will land 30 passengers and discharge 700 tons of cargo. Departure will be taken for Melbourne, via southern porta, on Saturday next. NOTICE TO MARINERS. The Secretary of Marine (Mr. Geo. AUport) has received the following wireless message from Captain Post, of tho cablelaying steamer Tutanekai, which is.-at present 'attending to the cables in Cook Strait: "Havo. moored cable end to' No. 5 buoy, south 78. degrees, west distant • U miles from Oterangi Bay Point, right In track of small vessels." The first of the Nippon Yusen Kaisha fleet to visit these waters—the Akita llaru —is expected to leave Japan about the middle of next, week for Wellington direct. She is due here about a month later, aoid leaves this port about September 25 for Port Pirie and Sydney. The fine new P. and S. liner Leitrim was to have left Sydney for New Zealand on Saturday. It was not made known on Saturday which will bo the first New Zealand port of call, but it will probably* be cither Gisborne or Auckland. The vessel comes to Wellington subsequently. An arrival on Saturday morning was the coastal steamer Tainui from Waitara. She is expected to return to Waitara this evening. The Corinna left Wellington for Port Chalmers direct early yosterday morning." On arrival at the soutKefn ? port tho vessel will withdraw for survey. With a load of coal, the* Kaiapoi is expected from Westport about Wednesday Tho Rosamond, instead of coming direct hero from tho south, was diverted, and mado a trip to Napier. On account of making a, trip to the coast she will uot be back here for somo flays. The auxiliary scow Echo arrived in port from the East Coast on Saturday, she will remain in Wellington for some days. Early on Saturday morning the SbawSavill liner Oorinthic, from London, via Cape Town, Hobart, and Auckland, arrived at Wellington, and berthed at the King's Wharf.
