London, August 12. A traveller writes: "The Turkification of Syria is proceeding With Prussian thoroughness. There are many hangings. 'J he usual course is to suspend the victim from a frame with tho toes to a stool, which the victim kicks away. Between sixty and eighty thou, sand have died of starvation in North Syria."
