Mr. Hagger thoroughly understood the Labour law 6, which would bo a great help to him. The employees of Messrs. Thos. Ballingcr and Co. met together, on Saturday morning. to make a presentation to one of their fellow-employees, Pto, F. LaucMan, who is in camp with the 16th' Infantry Reinforcements. The presentation took the form of a handsomo wristlet watch by Mr. T. Ryan, on behalf of the employees., and a safoty-Tazor outfit from the firm* Messrs. Ballinger and Co. hare sent to the front twenty men out of thirty men employed—a record that would be hard to equal. Of these two have been killed in action and one has boon woundod.

A Press Association cable message' from London on Saturday states that Capt. Thomas Kinder, of the Suffolk Regiment, . a nativo of Auckland, has been killed in action.
